About us
Thomas and Jim Chance were raised in the survey business helping their father, John E. Chance, build the largest privately-owned survey company in the world. In 1992, when John E. Chance sold his company to FUGRO, the Chance brothers resigned their management positions and began organizing C & C (Chance and Chance) Technologies, Inc.
Thomas and Jim quickly assembled a team of diverse experts that shared their entrepreneurial spirit. Initially, C & C was operated out of a home office with five employees, but has now grown to more than 400 employees in eight locations. C & C is headquartered in Lafayette, Louisiana, “the Heart of Cajun Country” and has offices in Houston, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Angola and the United Kingdom.
C & C provides a wide range of survey and mapping services for the land and offshore oil and gas industry, the telecommunications industry and the U.S. government. The company has divisions including Land and Transition Zone Survey Division, the Marine Construction Survey Division, the Geophysical and Geoscience Division, the Geotechnical Division and the Worldwide DGPS Services Division. C & C’s operational divisions are sustained by several in-house support functions including a database department, a systems development department, an information technology department, an electronics department, a mechanical fabrication department, as well as an HSE and QA department.
C & C is known through the world as a technological leader in the survey field. Innovations such as C-Nav, Globally-corrected GPS and the C-Surveyor™ AUVs have made groundbreaking advancements to the survey industry and subsequently have saved clients time and money.
