About AUVs An autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) is a self-propelled, unmanned underwater vehicle controlled by an onboard computer. AUVs can provide the comprehensive high-resolution geophysical data required by the offshore oil and gas industry, the marine telecommunications industry, academic institutions and various military and civilian government groups.
