About AUVs

An autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) is a self-propelled, unmanned underwater vehicle controlled by an onboard computer.
AUVs can provide the comprehensive high-resolution geophysical data required by the offshore oil and gas industry, the marine telecommunications industry, academic institutions and various military and civilian government groups.
Examples of data include multibeam bathymetry and imagery, side scan sonar data and subbottom profiler data.
